There are two parts to a successful social media strategy:

1. Content - you must have high quality, meaningful, and relevant content AND you must be consistent. This means posting at least 5 days a week and staying in within your interest group/industry. For example: If you are an interior designer and the majority of what you post is home related then the following you have grown knows and expects that from you. So, if all the sudden you switch and start posting about food, many of your followers will be disappointed. They followed you because they want to see interior design. As a result, you’ll most likely see your following decrease and your engagement go down. This is not to say that you can never change your mind but if you’re looking to grow, then it is important to do your best to stay consistent and stay on brand - (If you absolutely know that you want to transition your account into a new industry then there are some ways to ease this transition - I’ll talk more about that later this week)

2. Marketing - it is NOT enough to just post good content everyday. To be successful on social media and to grow your following, you must be social!! This means you have to engage with other users on a daily basis. By engagement I mean: liking, commenting, following, sharing and messaging. <— these are the currency 💰 of social media. And guess what... you have an endless supply of it! So give it out freely! - everyday you should be liking, commenting, etc. on not only your followers content but also on new accounts! This is how you capture the attention of new followers and really grow your influence!

Sound like a lot of work? I’m not gonna lie, it is! 

So if your feeling overwhelmed or discouraged then start slow. Set aside 1 hour everyday (15 min to post, 45 min to engage!) and work your way up from there.

What type of business is Instagram for?

Instagram is for almost EVERYONE in almost ANY INDUSTRY.

We all know (and probably follow ) some
of the big @instagram industries: food, fashion, fitness, memes, cute puppies/animals, photographers, etc.

These are the categories that are overflowing with influencers. Their products are mostly visual which makes @instagraman obvious platform for them!

How to Make the Leap from Quitting your 9-5 Desk Job to Being your own BOSS!

I know I’m always posting about the importance of taking control of your life and encouraging you to make that leap towards accomplishing your goals. Well taking that leap and actually quitting your job is freaking scary. I’ve been there and I totally get it. But, I’m also here to calm your nerves and tell you, once again, to have faith in the process!!


I honestly believe that the key to success in starting your own business is having the ability to sell yourself and your idea.

I know at least half of you are thinking.... sales?! Fuck, that’s not what I want to do with my life. There are two types of people in the world sales people and non-sales people. I am most definitely a non-sales person.

To put things in perspective, my first job out of college I worked selling advertising for Yelp. I worked there for 3 months and made ZERO sales. The worst part was I was really trying!! I busted my butt everyday. (If I hadn’t I definitively would have been fired haha). Anyways, long story short, I was the worst sales person everrrrr. 

So after what felt like the longest 3 months of my life. I QUIT - it was the best day I’d had in a longggg time! I had no idea what I was going to do with my life but I knew it was not going to be sales.

A couple months later I started AMR and within the first quarter I was making sales like crazy! And it was so easy and natural!!


How is this possible? The key to selling anything (whether it be yourself or a product) is passion. When you are super passionate about something it shows in your voice, your energy, and your presence and that energy is contagious!! It gets other people super excited about what you’re doing! And then SALES happen. And then just like that you have income! And stability! And most importantly - MOMENTUM! And that’s how you make the leap from quitting your 9-5 desk job to being your own BOSS!
